A Personal Warning from Ryan “Dickie” Thompson
If you’re a foreigner dating in the Philippines—or thinking about it—this post might save you from heartbreak, financial ruin, and unnecessary drama. After everything I’ve experienced, it’s time to go public.
To protect other men from falling into the same trap I did, we’re officially launching a new Facebook group called Dating Scams Filipinas. This group is a place for men to share their stories, post evidence, and warn others about the patterns and red flags we’ve learned the hard way. Our goal is not to shame people but to expose fraud, protect victims, and hold scammers accountable.
Let me start by sharing my personal story.

This seems to be an old account, but with the most activity
I have found at least 6 accounts of heres by doing this search;

She reached out to me randomly while I was headed to Bohol for a date with another woman. She claimed her husband had died in a motorcycle accident. She said she was pregnant with his child and had an 18-month-old with her. According to her, someone had stolen her purse at the bus terminal, and she had no way to get home.
I felt bad for her, so I offered her a place to sleep that night. I also gave her ₱3,000 for her travel back to Bantayan Island—where she claimed her parents lived. We ended up spending the night together, and I let her stay longer.
She told me her birthday was December 7th, and I even canceled my date in Bohol to spend that day with her. Later, I found her PhilHealth ID, which said her real birthday was December 17th, 1993. That was the first of many lies.

The Manipulation Begins
Over the next 8 months, I paid for everything—her PhilHealth renewal, her pregnancy expenses, the birth of her baby (born January 30th, 2025), and more. She even convinced me to put my name on the child’s birth certificate, saying it would “look better.” I now regret that deeply.
She would go through my phone and message my exes, friends, and even my family—accusing me of horrible things. Meanwhile, she was the one talking to many other men. I’d see calls pop up, and she’d quickly delete the evidence. She never let me near her phone, except when her son wanted to watch “Vroom Vroom” on YouTube.
Despite her insecurities, I trusted her longer than I should have. She has physical birth defects—fused fingers and toes—and I tried to be kind and supportive. But in return, she played me like a fiddle.
The Diamond Ring and the Final Betrayal
Before a trip to the U.S. to pick up my 11-year-old daughter in February 2025, I gave her a ₱180,000 diamond ring—not as a gift, but as reassurance I would return. I knew she had abandonment issues and thought this gesture would give her peace of mind.
When I returned, she had created chaos in my family life. She even dragged my daughter into arguments, filling her head with lies about me. Eventually, I had no choice but to kick her out for good on August 23rd 2025.
She turned around and sold the diamond ring for ₱5,000 just 3 months after I gave it to her.
Lies Upon Lies
She claimed to be going back to her family in Bantayan but instead went to Bogo and Medellin—places where her so-called “aunties” and “sisters” lived. After talking with them, I found out these women weren’t related to her at all. Just friends helping her lie.
I never once met her family. She always found an excuse to avoid it.
She made me send money to her friends via GCash and Western Union, saying it was for the kids. I was emotionally tied to those kids, especially since one of them was named after me.
In the end, she got:
- Hundreds of thousands of pesos
- A ₱180,000 ring
- Free rent, food, and medical care
- My name on a birth certificate
- And my emotional connection to her kids
All of that… in exchange for betrayal, manipulation, and an STD: Chlamydia trachomatis.
The Last Straw
On August 23rd, 2025, she asked if I could watch the kids for a few days while she got her government ID reissued. It was Saturday, and the office wouldn’t be open until Tuesday, so I knew she was going on a date. I refused.
That night, I wrote this article. Enough is enough.
Why We’re Launching This Group
There are thousands of foreign men who come to the Philippines looking for love—but leave with emptied bank accounts, broken hearts, or worse.
The new Dating Scams Filipinas Facebook group is here to change that.
We are building a community of truth-tellers, where expats and foreigners can:
- Share verified evidence (screenshots, names, aliases)
- Help each other recognize patterns of manipulation
- Expose repeat offenders
- Support each other through recovery
If you’ve been scammed, you’re not alone. Many of us stayed quiet too long, out of shame or embarrassment. That ends now.
A Word of Caution
Here are some red flags I wish I had recognized earlier:
- You never meet her family. There’s always an excuse.
- She never lets you visit her hometown. But she’ll travel to yours.
- She asks for help constantly, but has no plan to improve her life.
- She deletes messages and call logs.
- She starts fights to manipulate your emotions.
- She drags your children or family into your relationship drama.
- She lies about birthdays, names, and even her past.
- You’re never allowed to question her.
Stay sharp. Trust your gut. And remember, empathy without boundaries is a scammer’s dream.

Closing Thoughts
I’m not telling this story for sympathy. I’m sharing it because I don’t want you to be the next victim. Some women in the Philippines are sincere and loyal—but scammers like Jelly Naled ruin trust for everyone else.
Let’s fight back with truth, community, and vigilance.
Sincerely,
Ryan “Dickie” Thompson
🎧 Final Audio Recording (Trigger Warning: Abuse, Confession)
In this recording, you’ll hear her admit to taking money from other men and responding violently toward her 2-year-old son after he got sick. This moment was the final straw that led me to kick her out.
Is this your new Filipina?
She probably isn’t using her real name
So this is a collection of pictures that I have of her
